I recently stumbled across a couple of ‘Top 30 under 30′ lists which showcase some of the what can be achieved before you reach the age of 30.
Two I found particularly interesting were Matt Mullenweg (25) & Daniel Ek (26).
Matt Mullenweg
Location: San Francisco, US
Age: 25
Founded: Wordpress (2003) and Automattic (2005)
Matt started with a vision of making online publishing more accessible and user-friendly. The free blogging platform, Wordpress (which we LOVE to use) boasts nearly 4 million blogs worldwide, including this one. In 2005, Mullenweg launched Automattic to not only maintain WordPress, but to develop additional programs, like its Akismet spam-protection service.
This is one guy worth keeping a tab on! Which can be done via his blog or @photomatt…
Daniel Ek
Location: Stockholm, Sweden
Age: 26
Founded: Spotify (2006)
Daniel founded the ad-supported music streaming service Spotify in Stockholm in April 2006 with Martin Lorentzon, co-founder of the Internet marketing company TradeDoubler. Spotify claims 3 million users in the United Kingdom, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Spain and France. “It was crucial that we kept Spotify simple,” Ek says. “Our users can listen to whatever music they want to instantly, in good quality and with the minimum of fuss.” Based in Stockholm and London with 80 employees, Spotify is set to launch in the United States later this year. Aiming to offer “all the world’s music to users across the globe,” Ek says, “our move into the U.S. will go a considerable way to reaching that goal.”
The full lists can be found at from Billboard & Inc. and are definitely worth a gander. Would love to know who you think is the most interesting!?

Inspiring stuff. Same story Mark Zuckerberg the creator of facebook. So young and inspiring. I hear he runs the facebook business very gen y with no hierarchy. Everyone is just as important, no segregated desks for upper management etc.
Matt Mullenweg is amazing! He has done so much for the internet and bloggers! Just a really great person with incredible ideas.
I’m picturing the ‘wyze’ list coming out very soon! Thoughts?!
